Design4Dredgers can provide a complete set of services related to the design, building, commissioning and maintenance of dredging and offshore vessels in close cooperation with our clients. Below, you will find an overview of the main services we can deliver.
In close cooperation with our clients, we can provide concept designs with the highest return on investment and the best performance. We provide designs for dredging and offshore vessels, including DP2, SPS and dual fuel vessels (LNG, methanol, etc…).
Very often the value of a good concept design is underestimated. Design4Dredgers strongly believes in a strong concept design as the key to a successful investment and to a swift building process. These concept designs are the proper input for the basic and detailed design and the eventual building of the vessel.
Design4Dredgers can assist shipowners, shipyards or other parties during the tendering phase of a new building project. In this phase changes are made to the concept by shipowners and/or shipyards for commercial and/or technical reasons.
We can assist to safeguard the sound concept design in this stage. Finally, we can assist in setting up the building contract between owner, shipyard and/or third parties.
Two very important stages in a new building project are the basic and the detailed engineering. A good supervision of the basic engineering, with respect to content and timing, is essential for a successful project course. The detailed design is mostly done by the shipyard or a local engineering company.
The translation of the specific basic design of dredgers into the detailed design requires a lot of guidance of the unexperienced local engineering company to prevent mistakes are made during this translation.

A lot of shipyards have little or no experience in the precommissioning and commissioning of complex vessels like dredgers or DP2 offshore vessels. Design4Dredgers assists shipyards by making up a detailed commissioning planning, setup a commissioning team, managing the commissioning on site and safeguard that the technical requirements of the specification are achieved and demonstrated to the owner.

He gained this experience by working almost 19 years at the Newbuilding Department of Deme and by assisting owners, shipyards and engineering companies in design, building and commissioning over the last 13 years.
